Download PDFThe AB-QM 4.0 valve is the latest successor in the series of pressure-independent balancing and control valves AB-QM by Danfoss. The new valve design is crafted with maximum consideration for the high demands and needs of heating and air conditioning systems. It is characterised by high precision, long lifespan, and excellent user comfort. The valve is used for automatic balancing, flow and pressure regulation, and maintaining constant pressure within the valve.
In combination with a Danfoss actuator, it serves for precise flow regulation, providing high comfort and favourable overall operating costs. The AB-QM 4.0 was developed to minimise overall costs. Its aim is to offer an affordable solution for customer projects with regard to quality and durability. It is suitable for offices, hotels, hospitals, and buildings where precise temperature regulation is needed, such as in laboratories and research institutes.
The valve can be manually set using a rotary knob with a visible scale. The settings remain visible even after the actuator is connected, as they can be seen from both above and the side. The scale from 1 to 10 indicates the percentage flow setting in values from 10...100% of the flow. The valve also operates with a stroke limitation function.

The AB-QM 4.0 is characterised by high precision in flow measurement. Optional test plugs are available with a standard centre-to-centre distance.

Unlike older models, the AB-QM 4.0 is designed for higher pressures PN 25 / 360 PSI. They also allow for a wider range in flow regulation. Each valve size is now available in three construction flow variants. You can choose a valve from low flow (LF), normal, and high flow (HF).
The system with AB-QM operates in a variable flow mode. The exact amount of water needed at any given time flows to each appliance. This makes the entire system more economical.

The valve is now available for purchase in versions with internal or external threads. This product comes with an external thread. The sizes of threaded connections range from DN 15 to DN 32.

The integrated internal pressure regulator for the AB-QM 4.0 has been redesigned and now boasts lower friction and lower hysteresis. The soft parts are again made from PPSU polymer.
The control valve has 100% authority thanks to the integrated differential pressure regulator, ensuring stable regulation at all times. The compact design allows for installation even in small spaces, such as fan coil units.

The interior of the valve is made from DZR brass materials, while the soft parts are made from PPSU polymer. This reduces the risk of limescale build-up and subsequent flaking, which could cause valve clogging. The stroke of all valve sizes is now 4 mm for all.

The entire valve body is made from DZR brass as a single piece. The new design allows for bidirectional flushing and filling, saving time before commissioning.
Once the system is fully assembled, it no longer requires balancing thanks to the AB-QM valves, eliminating the need for complex step-by-step measurements and time-consuming adjustment corrections as with other valves.
