The Danfoss SSM-AV automatic air vent valve (part no. 088U0945) is designed for the reliable removal of air pockets from pipework systems and air separators in hot-water heating systems, heat supply for air handling units, air conditioning systems and manifolds. The valve is specifically designed as an accessory for Danfoss SSM series manifolds/distributors and features an integrated non-return valve that prevents air from being drawn back into the system.

Its operating principle is based on a float mechanism: when the valve body is filled with liquid, the float rises and closes the vent opening. As soon as air accumulates in the body or the liquid level begins to fall (for example when draining the system), the float drops and the valve opens, automatically releasing the air. Once refilled, the valve closes again automatically – without the need for any manual intervention.
