The Danfoss FVR DN20 threaded strainer is designed to protect valves and sensitive components in heating systems and domestic hot water systems. The strainer captures impurities contained in the pipework water – welding beads, swarf, sand and other solid particles. It must always be installed in the direction of flow of the medium upstream of the protected components, such as meters, pumps or control valves.

The strainer must be installed so that the direction of flow corresponds to the arrow on the valve body. Horizontal installation with the strainer insert facing downwards is recommended. Vertical installation is also permissible – when the medium flows upwards, the strainer captures all impurities, but they cannot settle and accumulate. During installation, sufficient space must be provided for removing the mesh for cleaning or replacement.
