Danfoss MBS 3000 is a compact pressure transmitter designed for industrial and hydraulic applications. It converts the medium pressure into a standard 4–20 mA analogue output signal, which can be connected directly to control systems or PLCs. This variant (060G1414) covers a measuring range of 0–6 bar with a G1/2 connection and 9–32 V DC supply.

Where the transmitter can be used

The MBS 3000 is designed for use in demanding industrial environments – pumping stations, compressors, pneumatic systems and water treatment plants. Thanks to its robust AISI 316L stainless steel construction, high vibration resistance and advanced EMC/EMI protection, it can handle even difficult operating conditions. The transmitter is also suitable for installation in hazardous areas (ATEX Zone 2).

Accuracy and durability in demanding environments

The transmitter is fully digitally compensated and laser calibrated, ensuring accuracy of ≤ ±0.5% FS (typical) while maintaining stability within a temperature range of 0–80 °C. The transmitter response to a pressure change is less than 4 ms for liquids with a viscosity of up to 100 cSt. Mechanical shock resistance reaches 500 g / 1 ms, and the transmitter can withstand vibrations up to 20 g in the frequency range 25 Hz – 2 kHz – parameters that are important wherever machinery causes strong shocks or vibration.

Frequently asked questions

The 060G1414 variant with 4–20 mA output operates as a 2-wire transmitter – the power supply and signal share the same pair of wires. On the DIN 43650-A (Pg 9) connector, pin 1 is positive supply (+) and pin 2 is negative supply (−). The third pin and housing earth are not used on the 4–20 mA variant. The load resistance must meet the condition RL ≤ (UB − 9 V) / 0.02 A.

For applications with cavitation, water hammer or pressure spikes, the MBS 3050 variant is intended, as it has an integrated pulse snubber. The standard MBS 3000 (such as this 060G1414 model) does not include this damper and is not suitable for such environments. If the operation involves rapid valve closing or pump start-ups, we recommend choosing the MBS 3050 series.

Yes, the MBS 3000 is certified for use in ATEX Zone 2 environments (according to EN 60079-0 and EN 60079-15). For use in ATEX environments, the temperature range is limited to –10 to 85 °C (instead of the standard –40 °C). At low temperatures, the cable and connector must be protected against mechanical impact.

Danfoss specifies a recommended tightening torque of 30–35 Nm for the G1/2 A thread (code AB08). The actual value may vary depending on the sealing material, mating material, thread lubrication and operating pressure. The transmitter is supplied without a seal (code 0) – the seal must be provided separately according to the fitting used.
