The Danfoss thermostatic disinfection module for MTCV version B (003Z2021) is a specialised accessory designed for installation on MTCV thermostatic balancing valves in domestic hot water circulation systems. The module provides thermal disinfection of riser pipework by overheating to an automatic disinfection temperature, effectively reducing the risk of Legionella bacteria occurring in domestic hot water distribution systems.

The module operates fully automatically – it independently diagnoses the thermal-hydraulic characteristics of the installation and, based on the measured values, selects the optimum mode and sequence for disinfecting individual risers. The length of the disinfection cycle is adjusted to the current temperature in the system. The disinfection process is continuously monitored and the module generates reports on completion as well as any faults. The functionality also includes communication with the domestic hot water heater controller – it confirms completion of the overheating process and ensures that the temperature-supporting module operates only for the time strictly necessary for disinfection.
