The QPM2102/MO channel sensor from the STANDARD series is designed for measuring air quality in ducts and channels. The sensor monitors the level of CO2 and VOC in the flowing air within ventilation or air conditioning systems. The sensing is based on the principle of optical infrared absorption measurement (CO2) and the principle of a heated zinc oxide semiconductor (VOC). The sensors can be used to regulate the supply or exhaust air or as components of a building management system. The sensor is ideally suited for rooms where a large number of people gather and where there may be increased indications of fumes and undesirable concentrations of various odours. This can include schools, conference halls, auditoriums, cultural social facilities, schools, canteens, and restaurants, among others.

This sensor is not intended as a warning safety signal for smoke or gas leaks. Additionally, the sensors are not designed for outdoor use.
