GSH-(C7H8) is a pre-calibrated sensor module for the E2639-GSH detector and is used to measure toluene in the range of 0–100% LEL. It connects via an M12 connector and can be replaced during operation without opening the detector housing. An integrated calibration calendar monitors the date of the next calibration, while the calibration itself can be carried out separately from the installed E2639 main unit using the SSC configurator.
The GSH-VOC(C7H8) sensor is designed for monitoring toluene in environments such as paint shops, printing works, chemical and pharmaceutical facilities, paint and thinner stores, vehicle repair workshops, and other enclosed spaces where volatile organic compounds may accumulate.

Toluene is a volatile organic compound that readily evaporates into the air and can accumulate in enclosed spaces to dangerous levels. Although it has a characteristic odour, it cannot be relied upon as a warning sign, because the sense of smell quickly adapts after repeated exposure and stops detecting it. Exposure may lead to headaches, nausea, dizziness, or impaired concentration, and at higher concentrations or with long-term exposure there is a risk of serious damage to the nervous system, liver, and kidneys.
The smart sensor offers a major advantage during calibration – the entire process can be carried out separately from the installed detector. While the E2639 main unit remains in operation at the installation site, the GSH sensor module can be removed and calibrated independently – at the distributor’s premises, the integrator’s premises, or directly at the Evikon MCI manufacturer. This is done using the dedicated SSC configurator, through which the module is connected to a computer. Once calibrated, the GSH module simply slides back into place via the M12 connector – without opening the instrument housing, without complicated procedures, and without downtime for the entire installation.

Each sensor package includes the manufacturer’s original calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time of leaving the factory.
