The Flamco Airfix pressurised expansion vessel is designed to compensate for changes in water volume and to limit pressure surges in potable water and DHW installations. It helps protect fittings and appliances (e.g. water heaters/cylinders) and contributes to smoother system operation. The diaphragm design with a gas charge is suitable where a compact solution with a defined pre-charge pressure is required. In practice, it is mainly used on the cold feed to the water heater in combination with a safety group.
