It is important to detect leaks of both previously used chlorofluorocarbons (CFCs) and today’s hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs). Leakage of these gases has a negative impact on the environment and the ozone layer. In the event of a leak, refrigerant may also accumulate in enclosed spaces up to a toxic level. It is therefore essential to ensure early leak warning by means of a detector.
Hydrocarbon refrigerants tend to sink because they are heavier than air. Refrigerant detectors should therefore be installed near the floor, close to the potential leak point. The recommended coverage area for one detector is 80...120m2, which corresponds to a radius of approx. 5...6m.
Refrigerant detectors are widely used in kitchens and restaurants, cold rooms, warehouses, supermarkets, as well as ice rinks and food processing plants.
The EVIKON E2608-HFC detector is equipped with two-stage signalling with outputs to switching relays. It does not have its own visual or audible alarm. Detectors in the E2608 series are an intelligent solution for modern applications with ModBus RS485 communication and two analogue outputs 4-20mA/0-10V.
Manufactured in a robust design with IP65 protection - ABS plastic, resistant to mechanical damage. Rigid, tough, resistant to both low and high temperatures, low absorbency, and safe for health. The sensor service life is more than 10 years.
Each sensor is factory calibrated to default values (described in the manual). The law stipulates that recalibration must be carried out at least once every 12 months. Calibration may only be performed by a person certified by the manufacturer.
The sensor is intended for the detection of refrigerants:
R-12, R-123, R-125, R-134a, R-143, R-22, R-404a, R-407c, R-410a, etc.
Tip: Get automatic reminders of the statutory calibration date via the www.kalibrovat.cz service
