The valve is applicable in all heating and cooling systems where it is necessary to release air to prevent damage to the distribution network. It automatically releases air from the pipes as soon as the overpressure in the system increases, and conversely, prevents the formation of vacuum by admitting air when water is drained from the system. In cooling systems, it is capable of working with antifreeze mixtures based on glycol with a maximum concentration of 50% and a minimum medium temperature of -30 °C.

High-quality materials ensure high reliability and performance. It is designed to withstand increased load during the filling of the network with water and thus high initial air release, as well as intermittent air release during normal operation.

Function

A float is located in the body of the valve. If the entire space is flooded with water, the float is in a raised position and the valve remains closed, preventing any discharge. If the level drops and air enters the valve space, the float descends and the valve opens to release excess air. The water level then returns to its original level and the valve closes again.

The valve has a cap that can close the entire valve, but it remains open during normal operation.

The R99 valve can be supplemented with the R160 check valve, which ensures that the entire system does not need to be drained in the event of dismantling the R99 valve. For heating systems, we recommend treating the water with the R831 additive, which reduces the possibility of incrustation in the pipes.
