Grundfos CU 302 is a control unit designed for the control and monitoring of Grundfos SQE submersible pumps. It communicates with the pump via the power cable (mains signalling), so no additional data cables are required for the connection. The unit is supplied pre-set for constant pressure operation and can be reconfigured via the Grundfos GO app to a wide range of other control modes.
The CU 302 is suitable wherever an SQE submersible pump is powered – in family houses and cottages with a well, in smaller water supply systems, irrigation systems, or for pressure boosting in water pipework. The unit can be installed indoors or outdoors (IP55 enclosure rating), mounted on a wall in a plant room, in a chamber, or near the borehole. Thanks to its configurable input/output and support for GENIbus and Modbus RTU protocols, the CU 302 can also be integrated into industrial control systems.
Factory settings:
The CU 302 is intended exclusively for Grundfos SQE submersible pumps. It communicates with the pump via the power cable using mains signalling technology (power line communication) – no separate data cable is required. The maximum cable length between the control unit and the pump is 300 m.
Basic settings (required pressure, start/stop) can be made directly via the control panel with display and buttons on the front of the unit. More detailed parameterisation – selection of control mode, alarm settings, input/output configuration, firmware updates – is handled via the free Grundfos GO mobile app (iOS and Android) connected via Bluetooth.
In addition to the default constant pressure mode, the CU 302 offers level control modes (both tank filling and emptying), pressure control with digital or analogue input, well dewatering, and pump monitoring. Switching between modes is carried out in the Grundfos GO app without the need for any rewiring.
The CU 302 monitors the pump's power consumption. If it drops below the factory-set limit (the value depends on the motor output – e.g. 300 W for a 0.7 kW motor), the unit stops the pump and activates an alarm. In constant pressure mode, this protection is active automatically. The threshold can be adjusted in the Grundfos GO app, or automatic restart can be set after a selected time.
The unit is wall-mounted (6 mounting holes, cable glands facing downwards), power supply 90–240 VAC / 50–60 Hz, rated current max. 12.5 A, recommended fuse max. 16 A. Electrical connection may only be carried out by a qualified electrician. Operating temperature −20 to +50 °C, IP55 enclosure rating. The unit must not be exposed to direct sunlight or rain without a protective shelter.
