Honeywell DPTE250D is a three-port differential pressure sensor with a digital display and analogue output. It measures the pressure difference of air and non-aggressive gases in the range 0–250 Pa (switchable to 0–500 Pa) and converts it into a standardised 0–10 V or 4–20 mA signal for a connected controller or BMS system.

Where the sensor is used

The DPTE250D is designed for air handling units, ventilation ductwork and building automation systems where continuous monitoring of differential pressure is required. Typical applications include monitoring air filter clogging, damper control, or supervising the performance of fans and blowers. The sensor is intended exclusively for gaseous media – air or other non-aggressive gases.

Detail of the display and jumper configuration of the DPTE250D

Tool-free configuration by jumper

The measuring range, response time and output signal type can all be switched directly on the device using jumpers – with no service intervention or software configuration required. The output can be selected between 0–10 V and 4–20 mA, the range can be switched from 0–250 Pa to 0–500 Pa, and the response time from 1 s to 100 ms. The zero point can be reset at any time by pressing the button after disconnecting the hoses.

Readings directly on site

The integrated red LED display shows the current measured value in Pa or kPa. On-site readout is particularly useful during commissioning, when checking filtration performance or setting the reference point. The display operates independently of the output signal, so you always have a clear overview, even without a connected BMS.

Factory settings (switchable by jumper):

Frequently asked questions

The DPTE250D is a differential pressure transmitter (sensor/transducer) – not a switch with a relay output. The output is an analogue signal: either 0–10 Vdc (factory default setting) or 4–20 mA after switching the jumper. This signal is wired directly to a controller, frequency inverter or BMS control unit.

The sensor is connected using hoses to 6 mm spigots (P1 = higher pressure, P2 = lower pressure). Each package includes a DPSK kit containing 2 m of silicone hose and two connection spigots. An optional DPSL L-mounting bracket is available separately for wall or panel mounting. Electrical connection is via a terminal block for conductors up to 1.5 mm², with an M20×1.5 cable gland.

Disconnect both pressure hoses (P1 and P2) so that the sensor is exposed to atmospheric pressure on both sides. Then press and hold the re-zeroing button for approximately 5 seconds – the sensor will set the current zero point. Honeywell recommends carrying out this zeroing occasionally during the first two years of operation, as the piezoresistive sensor may exhibit slight drift during this period.

The DPTE250D is intended exclusively for air and non-aggressive gases. It cannot be used for liquids, aggressive or explosive gases, or in environments with condensing humidity. The maximum permissible humidity is 95% RH, non-condensing. The operating temperature range is 0–50 °C; outside this range, the manufacturer does not guarantee accuracy.
