Honeywell V5832B DN40 (V5832B2117) is a two-way linear control valve with a pressure-balanced plug, designed for precise control of hot or chilled water flow. The valve operates at a nominal pressure of PN16 with a kVs flow coefficient of 25 and a temperature range of 2–130 °C. It is installed in combination with small Honeywell electric linear actuators.

Typical applications

The V5832B valve is primarily intended for heating and cooling control in systems with fan coil units, small heaters (reheaters) and heat recovery units in commercial buildings. Thanks to its compact dimensions and DN40 size with kVs 25, it can also meet more demanding flow requirements in smaller air-conditioning circuits. The valve is installed in the return line, with water always flowing from port A to port B.

Pressure-balanced plug

Thanks to the pressure-balanced plug, the close-off pressure is equal to the system pressure – specifically up to 1,000 kPa with actuators rated at 300 N or 400 N. This ensures reliable shut-off even at high differential pressure without the need for an oversized actuator. The valve handles flow control over a 50:1 range, with a linear flow characteristic.

Manual setting without actuator

The valve is supplied with an adjusting cap that allows manual operation of the stem without an actuator connected. This function is practical during filling or initial heating/cooling of the system during the construction phase, when the control system is not yet in operation. The cap is removed only when the actuator is installed.

Frequently asked questions

The V5832B2117 valve is compatible with small Honeywell electric linear actuators rated at 300 N (e.g. M7410C1015, M7410E1028) or 400 N (e.g. ML6435B, ML7430E, ML7435E). When using either a 300 N or 400 N actuator, the max. close-off pressure is 1,000 kPa.

The V5832B two-way valve requires two installation sets – one for each port (inlet A and outlet B). For DN40, these are the AC-40T sets (R1½" male thread) or AC-40TF (Rp1½" female thread). The sets are not included with the valve and must be ordered separately.

The valve is installed in the return line, with the medium always flowing from port A (inlet) to port B (outlet). The stem must not point downwards. The recommended tightening torque for the connections is 25–30 Nm. Water quality must comply with the requirements of VDI 2035.

Yes. The V5832B valve is designed for water with a maximum glycol content of 50%, making it suitable for cooling circuits with antifreeze mixture as well. The medium temperature range is 2–130 °C.
