Honeywell VXE32B16MFS is a three-way small linear control valve with external thread, DN32, PN16 and a Kvs value of 16. The valve is designed for modulating control of hot or chilled water flow in fan coil units and small heaters or coolers in electronic temperature control systems. Thanks to the pressure-balanced plug, the close-off pressure is equal to the system operating pressure.
The VXE32B16MFS is used primarily in fan coil units in residential and commercial buildings, in small air heaters and coolers, and in hydraulic circuits of electronic climate control systems. The valve operates primarily as a mixing valve: port AB is the total flow outlet, port A is the controlled inlet, and port B is the bypass inlet. Installation on the return line of the pipe circuit is recommended.
The integrated pressure-balanced plug ensures that the close-off pressure corresponds to the system operating pressure, so the valve closes reliably even at higher differential pressures without the need to oversize the actuator. The actuator is mounted via a standard M30 × 1.5 thread. The valve is supplied with an adjustment cap that allows manual opening of the stroke during filling or initial commissioning of the system, even without an actuator connected.
The valve body is made of dezincification-resistant brass, the stem is stainless steel, and the plug seal is EPDM. The G 2" external thread (DN32) with flat sealing allows connection by means of union fittings – a union fitting set for various connection types (external and internal thread) is available as an accessory. The valve is suitable for water or water-glycol solutions up to 50%, within a temperature range of 2–130 °C.
The valve is designed for actuators with a 6.5 mm stroke and a standard M30 × 1.5 thread. Compatible actuators include the Honeywell/Resideo M6410C, M6410L, M7410C and M7410E series (300 N, 3-point or 0/2–10 V), as well as ML6435B, ML7430E and ML7435E (400 N, spring return or 0/2–10 V modulating). The actuator must be ordered separately.
The valve is installed on the return line, observing the flow direction indicated on the body. The valve stem must not point downwards. The recommended tightening torque for the connections is 25–30 Nm. The adjustment cap should only be removed when fitting the actuator. If the differential pressure at the installation point exceeds 60 kPa, possible noise occurrence should be taken into account.
For the three-way VXE DN32 version, the maximum close-off pressure is 300 kPa when using a 300 N actuator (M6410/M7410) and 1,200 kPa with a 400 N actuator (ML6435B, ML7430E, ML7435E). The more powerful ML series actuators are therefore advantageous at higher differential pressures in the system.
The valve has a G 2" external thread with flat sealing. Transition union fittings from the ASV-CS (Connection Set) range are used for connection to the pipework. For DN32, this is the ASV-CS-32-O-F set (transition to R 1¼" external thread) or the ASV-CS-32-I-F set (transition to Rp 1¼" internal thread). Each set includes a union nut, tailpiece and seal. As the VXE is a three-way valve, three union fitting sets are required.
