Evikon E2630-LEL is a detector designed to monitor the concentration of hydrogen (H2) in air. The instrument uses a semiconductor sensor that provides accurate measurements within the lower explosive limit (LEL) range. Thanks to its robust design and reliable performance, it is suitable for industrial and commercial applications where methane safety limits need to be monitored.

The device is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection, ensuring resistance to dust and water. In addition, it features a visual and audible alarm for early warning when methane / natural gas concentration rises. The E2630-LEL is equipped with two SPDT relay outputs, allowing easy integration with ventilation and alarm systems.

Typical applications:

The E2630-LEL detector is intended for monitoring hydrogen in industrial and commercial environments such as battery charging rooms, server rooms, gas stores, H2 filling stations, or other areas where flammable gases are handled. The instrument is used for the early detection of hazardous hydrogen concentrations, helping to ensure equipment safety and minimise the risk of fire or explosion.

Hydrogen:

Hydrogen is the lightest and most abundant element in the universe, characterised by high energy density and clean combustion. When used as a fuel, it produces only water, making it an environmentally friendly alternative to fossil fuels. Hydrogen is often used in fuel cells, which generate electricity to power vehicles or supply various devices.

Calibration certificate

Calibration certificate

Every package of Evikon gas detectors includes a factory-issued calibration certificate. The calibration certificate is in English. Gas concentration measurement is affected by operating temperature and humidity, therefore the detector is calibrated during production with enhanced safety in mind.

Detector

Key features:

  • Detected substances: Hydrogen H2
  • May respond to: Flammable gases - acetylene, methane, benzene, ethanol, ethyl acetate, toluene, xylenes, vapours from cleaning agents, refrigerants, etc.
  • Sensor type: Metal oxide semiconductor sensor with diffusion sampling.
  • Measuring range: 0...100 %LEL with 0.1 %LEL resolution.
  • Two-stage detection
  • Response time: Less than 120 seconds with signal update every second.
  • Alarms: Flashing LED and siren (85 dB).
  • Recommended recalibration interval: 6-12 months
  • Expected sensor lifetime: > 5 years
  • Avoid strong mechanical shocks, vibrations, or electromagnetic interference (EMI). Also avoid exposure to corrosive gases or products containing silicone.

Factory settings:

  • Calibration gas: Hydrogen H2
  • Measuring range: 0...100 %LEL
  • Alarm settings:
    • ALARM1 = 10 %LEL
    • ALARM2 = 20 %LEL
  • Automatic alarm reset after ventilation (can be switched to manual mode using a magnet)
