Comet U7844G is an IoT wireless four-channel data logger with binary and counting inputs and a built-in 4G modem. It records the states of four binary inputs or two binary inputs and two pulse counters, and when the set limits are exceeded, it sends alarm SMS messages and JSON messages via the 4G network.
The U7844G is designed for remote monitoring of two-state (binary) signals and pulse counting – for example equipment status (on/off), door opening via a magnetic contact, presence of mains voltage via a detector, or consumption readings from meters with a pulse output. Thanks to battery power and the built-in 4G modem, it does not require fixed network infrastructure, so it can also be deployed in locations without LAN or Wi-Fi. The measured data is sent to the COMET Cloud system or to the COMET Database software.
The built-in LTE Cat 1 modem (LTE FDD / GSM / GPRS / EDGE) sends alarm SMS and JSON messages and transmits measured data without a wired connection. Data can be sent to COMET Cloud storage, which is used for monitoring, alarming and analysis, or to the COMET Database software. The transmission interval to COMET Cloud is adjustable from 5 minutes. The SIM card is not included in the package.
Data is logged to energy-independent memory with a capacity of up to 500,000 values (350,000 in cyclic mode). The logging interval is adjustable from 1 second to 24 hours, and either cyclic or non-cyclic mode can be selected. For each channel, you can set an upper and lower limit; if either is exceeded, the device signals an alarm via a tri-colour LED, on the LCD display and acoustically. Stored data can be transferred to a computer using the supplied cable via the USB-C interface.

No. The SIM card is not included in the package, and a separate data tariff is required for transmitting data and alarms via the 4G network. COMET supplies an IoT SIM card as an accessory (code LP105).
Not necessarily. You can monitor the data online in COMET Cloud storage, or transfer it to the COMET Database software and analyse it locally. With the device, you receive the full version of COMET Vision software and 3 months of COMET Cloud service free of charge; for a further year of operation in the Cloud, 1 credit is required.
The device is powered by a built-in rechargeable Li-Ion battery A8200 (3.6 V / 5200 mAh), which is charged via USB-C; both the power adapter and cable are included in the package. Battery life on a single charge is on the order of months to years and depends on the set logging interval and the number of messages sent.
The binary inputs accept both voltage and voltage-free (contact) signals – for example, you can connect the SA-200-A magnetic contact for door monitoring or the SP008 AC voltage detector. The counting inputs count pulses from devices with a pulse output; the counter range is 24 bits.
