Optical detectors from the Regin SDD series are suitable for installation in ducts, pipes, and ventilation systems. They meet all requirements for fire alarm installations. They feature an alarm for early smoke detection. Detectors with a relay do not connect to a control panel but allow the detector to independently trigger an alarm without being connected to a control unit.

Optical type detectors respond to visible smoke particles. They operate on the principle of light reflection from smoke particles entering the detector chamber. An infrared LED illuminates the area in front of it, through which air flows. In the event of smoke particle entry, the light is reflected and scattered throughout the chamber, where it is detected by a phototransistor, which subsequently triggers the alarm. A Venturi tube with a length of 540 mm is supplied with the detectors, which can be shortened to the desired length. A viewing window on the detector cover allows a view of the flow indicator and the warning red LED signal. This lights up in the event of a fire alarm.
