CubicSecure works as comprehensive protection against flooding in the home. It continuously monitors water flow and temperature and can intervene automatically if a problem occurs. It can also be linked with additional CubicSecure units and CubicDetector sensors.

The main safety features include:

• Three-stage water leak detection: the device recognises the severity of the problem and responds accordingly.
  • Micro-leaks (from 0.01 l/h): these correspond to a dripping tap or a running toilet. CubicSecure performs an automatic leak-tightness test every day. If a micro-leak is detected, it sends an alert within 48–72 hours and, after a further 24 hours without any response, it shuts off the water supply as a preventive measure.
  • Medium leaks (over 6 l/h): if there is continuous flow for 45 minutes, the system triggers an alarm and automatically shuts off the water.
  • Large leaks (over 1500 l/h): typically a burst pipe. The device reacts extremely quickly and shuts off the water after 90 seconds of continuous flow.
• Temperature measurement and freeze protection: integrated sensors measure both ambient temperature and the temperature of the water itself in the range from 0.1 °C to 70 °C. They provide an early warning if there is a real risk of freezing and pipes cracking.
• Smart pairing for hot and cold water: if units are installed on both supplies, they communicate with each other. When the unit on the cold water supply detects a leak, the hot water supply is automatically shut off as well – limiting damage and helping to prevent scalding.

CubicSecure uses a sensitive built-in pressure sensor to detect even minor leaks.

• When the test is carried out: the device performs a leak-tightness test automatically every day when there is no water draw-off in the household.
• How a micro-leak is identified: the system evaluates the situation as a problem if the pressure in the pipework drops by more than 0.3 bar during the test (within a maximum of 45 seconds).
• What this means in practice: thanks to this test, the device can detect even a very small leak, such as a seepage of just a few drops per minute.

Flow measurement:

• Measurement range: the ultrasonic sensors measure the volume of flowing water in the range from 6 l/h (minimum) to 4000 l/h (maximum).
• Smaller leaks: micro-leaks and dripping taps are detected by the integrated pressure sensor during the daily leak-tightness test.

Pipe size and installation:

• Standard connection: CubicSecure is directly compatible with a G20 Eurocone thread (DN20).
• Other diameters: using standard plumbing adapters and reducers, it can also be installed on pipes of other sizes.
• Recommendation: installation on pipework up to a maximum size of DN25.
• Note: installation on pipework with an excessively large diameter may lead to reduced water pressure. If in doubt, we recommend consulting a plumber.
