Increasing droughts are plaguing farmers and ordinary home gardeners every summer. Almost every summer, local councils issue bans on using drinking water for garden irrigation. Often, there is nothing left to do but silently watch the crops wither and hope for rain soon. This is why it is necessary to learn how to handle rainwater as efficiently as possible.
The Wilo RAIN 1 automatic pumping system with a self-priming pump for rainwater utilisation is designed for applications where drinking water is not required. Its compact design allows for easy and immediate connection and commissioning. Additionally, the system features automatic protective functions such as level monitoring and dry run protection, continuous pressure indication in the system, and a memory of the last 10 faults. In case of insufficient rainwater, the system switches to a secondary source.
The base frame with dampers reduces vibrations caused by the pump, ensuring quiet operation. An 11-litre pre-tank with a float valve and overflow sensor is installed on the pump.

The system is suitable for family homes and small commercial properties. Rainwater can primarily be used for garden watering. It can also be used for flushing toilets and washing clothes, for example. It will need to be connected to the water supply, but in such a way that rainwater does not mix with drinking water from the mains.
