Maintenance-free CO2 sensor based on optical measurement of infrared absorption (NDIR = Non-dispersive infrared). Used in ventilation and air conditioning systems to optimize comfort and energy consumption in rooms through demand-based and air quality regulation. This sensor does not require recalibration. 

The sensor can be used for the following applications:

• For regulation 
• Sensors for building management systems or for displaying values 

The sensor measures: 

• CO₂ concentration: indication of room occupancy or areas where smoking is prohibited 
• VOC concentration: indication of odours, e.g., tobacco smoke, body odour, or material fumes 
• Relative humidity in the room 
• Ambient temperature 

Typical applications:

• Measurement of CO₂ and VOC concentration: Halls, exhibition and trade fair pavilions, restaurants, canteens, shopping centres, gyms, conference rooms and halls, etc. 
• Measurement of CO₂ concentration: Areas with variable occupancy where smoking is prohibited, such as museums, cinemas, theatres, lecture halls, schools, auditoriums, etc.  

The QPA 2002 sensor cannot be used for safety signalling, e.g., as sensors for emergency smoke or gas alarms.
