The Siemens RDZ103ZB thermostat is part of the Siemens Connected Home home automation system for smart heating. It is designed for temperature control in heating systems via the OpenTherm ® protocol. The thermostat is compatible only with boilers that support the Smart Power function (OpenTherm® protocol version V3.0A or higher).

The thermostat is powered via an 18 VDC input. You can easily connect it via ZigBee 3.0 to the GTW100ZB router. Up to 40 control thermostats can be connected to a single ZigBee router; to add a larger number of thermostats you can use an additional router or the RCR110.2ZB switching unit as a signal repeater. The entire Siemens smart heating system can then be easily controlled from the Connected Home mobile app, where you can easily set the daily heating schedule. The RDZ103ZB thermostat  also allows manual temperature setting using touch buttons. The display with energy-saving mode clearly shows the settings and other details.

The thermostat is equipped with an output switching relay, 2-position /  TPI control to achieve a constant temperature, a temperature sensor, an open window detection and frost protection.

The thermostat can also be set manually. This is done using three buttons located on the unit and an LCD display, which clearly shows both the settings and warning messages, among other information. The "-" button decreases the set temperature, while the "+" button increases it. Pressing and holding both simultaneously for 10 seconds resets the device to factory settings. Pressing the power button wakes the display, and pressing it again switches the ON/OFF mode. Pressing and holding the button for five seconds puts the thermostat into pairing mode.
