The air quality room sensor Siemens QPA1000 is used for measuring the concentration of VOC (volatile organic compounds) in indoor environments. It is suitable for use in ventilation and air conditioning systems, where it allows the control of fresh air supply based on the current air quality. The sensor provides an output signal of DC 0...10 V or 0...5 V proportional to the pollution level.

Measurement is carried out using a semiconductor sensor based on metal oxide, which reacts to mixed gases and odours. The device does not require recalibration and allows the setting of the response time constant (slow, normal, fast) according to the application.
