Typical applications

The GSH-NH3 sensor is designed for monitoring ammonia in environments such as refrigeration and freezer equipment, wastewater treatment plants, agricultural facilities (especially livestock housing), chemical plants and other enclosed spaces where NH3 leakage or accumulation may occur. The device helps prevent health risks associated with exposure to this gas and contributes to ensuring the safety of both personnel and operations.

Ammonia (NH₃)

Ammonia is a colourless gas with a characteristic sharp, pungent odour which, unlike many other hazardous gases, makes it detectable even without a measuring instrument. Even relatively low concentrations of NH₃ can irritate the eyes, nose and respiratory tract, causing coughing or a burning sensation of the mucous membranes, while high concentrations can lead to severe lung damage or be life-threatening.

Easy installation

The smart sensor offers a major advantage during calibration – the entire process can be carried out separately from the installed detector. While the E2639-GSH main unit remains in operation at the installation site, the GSH sensor module can be removed and calibrated independently – at the distributor's, integrator's or directly at the manufacturer Evikon MCI. A dedicated SSC configurator is used for this purpose, through which the module is connected to a computer. Once calibrated, the GSH module simply needs to be plugged back in via the M12 connector – without opening the device housing, without complicated procedures and without downtime for the entire installation.

Calibration certificate
