E2639-CO is a detector designed for monitoring high concentrations of carbon monoxide in the air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250 VAC 5 A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. Communication with higher-level systems is provided by the RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, complemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. In addition, the device includes four LEDs and an audible alarm to immediately alert operators when the set limit is exceeded directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.

Typical applications

The E2639-CO detector is intended for monitoring carbon monoxide in environments such as boiler rooms, garages, tunnels, industrial halls and other enclosed spaces where CO may accumulate. The device helps prevent health risks associated with exposure to this gas and contributes to ensuring the safety of both personnel and operations.

Carbon monoxide (CO)

Carbon monoxide is colourless and odourless, which makes it particularly dangerous because its presence cannot easily be detected without a detector. It is produced by the incomplete combustion of fossil fuels, for example in boilers, cars or during burning in enclosed spaces. Even low concentrations of carbon monoxide can cause health problems such as headaches, dizziness or poisoning, while higher levels can be fatal.

Smart communication – ideal for fire alarm systems

The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety device and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (EPS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:

Autonomy: 3× volt-free SPDT relays for direct control of equipment or safe system shutdown.
Connectivity: Dual RS485 Modbus RTU interface for real-time digital export of measured data to a higher-level system (BMS).
Control: 2× 4–20 mA analogue outputs intended for precise control of the ventilation frequency inverter.

Easy installation

The E2639 is equipped with three M20 cable glands and a dual terminal block for Modbus RTU. The duplicated Modbus RTU terminals simplify and speed up bus wiring for data readout to a higher-level system. No more inserting two conductors into a single terminal. Thanks to the M20 glands, all required outputs can be connected conveniently.
