Typical applications

The E2639-C2H4 detector is intended for monitoring ethylene in environments such as fruit and vegetable storage facilities, ripening chambers, greenhouses, food processing plants, and other operations where ethylene is used as a ripening regulator or where it may be unintentionally generated as a product of biological processes. The device helps prevent health risks associated with exposure to this gas and contributes to ensuring the safety of both personnel and operations.

Ethylene (C2H4)

Ethylene is a colourless gas with a faintly sweet odour, which is practically imperceptible at very low concentrations without the use of a detector. Although it is not directly fatal during short-term exposure, at higher levels it displaces oxygen in the air and may cause dizziness, disorientation, or loss of consciousness. However, the principal hazard is its high flammability — even relatively low concentrations of ethylene in air can lead to explosion or fire in enclosed spaces, making it a gas that requires continuous monitoring.

Smart communication – ideal for fire alarm systems

The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety device and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (EPS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:

• Autonomy: 3× volt-free SPDT relays for direct control of equipment or safe system shutdown.
• Connectivity: Dual RS485 Modbus RTU interface for real-time digital export of measured data to a higher-level system (BMS).
• Control: 2× 4–20 mA analogue outputs intended for precise control of the ventilation frequency inverter.

WiFi calibration from any smart device

Compared to the standard version, the E2639-WF has an integrated WiFi module that turns calibration and configuration into a matter of minutes – with no tools and without removing the cover. The access point is activated using a magnetic key, and the configuration interface opens in the browser of a phone or tablet, with no need to download any app. The interface is password-protected with separate access levels for end users and integrators, so everyone works only within their own part of the settings.
