E2639-O2-5Y is a detector designed for monitoring high oxygen concentrations in ambient air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250 VAC 5 A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. Communication with higher-level systems is provided by the RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, supplemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. The version with a Wi-Fi module enables wireless connection of a smartphone or tablet for configuration and calibration via a web interface – with no need to install an app. In addition, the device includes four LEDs and an audible alarm, which immediately alert operators to an exceeded set limit directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.

Typical applications

The E2639-O2 detector is intended for monitoring oxygen in environments such as industrial facilities, welding shops, filling stations, chemical laboratories, marine spaces, tunnels, and other enclosed or poorly ventilated areas where a dangerous drop in, or conversely an excessive increase in, O₂ concentration may occur.

Oxygen (O₂)

Oxygen is a colourless and odourless, yet vital gas making up approximately 21% of the Earth's atmosphere by volume. It is essential for the respiration of humans and animals and is key to many chemical and combustion processes. High oxygen concentrations can increase the risk of fire, while a lack of oxygen can be life-threatening. For this reason, monitoring oxygen concentration in enclosed or industrial spaces is essential for ensuring safety.

Smart communication – ideal for fire alarm systems

The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety element and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (EPS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:

  • Autonomy: 3× volt-free SPDT relays for direct control of equipment or safe system shutdown.
  • Connectivity: Dual RS485 Modbus RTU interface for digital export of measured data in real time to a higher-level system (BMS).
  • Control: 2× 4–20 mA analogue outputs intended for precise control of the ventilation frequency inverter.

WiFi calibration from any smart device

Compared to the standard version, the E2639-WF has an integrated WiFi module that turns calibration and configuration into a matter of minutes – without tools and without removing the cover. The access point is activated using a magnetic key, and the configuration interface opens in the browser of a phone or tablet, with no need to download any app. The interface is password-protected with separate access levels for end users and integrators, so everyone works only within their own part of the settings.

Factory settings:

  • Measuring range: 0...25 %vol O2
  • ALARM1 (RE1): 18 %vol O2
  • ALARM2 (RE2): 19 %vol O2
  • ALARM3 (RE3): sensor fault
    • Automatic alarm reset after ventilation
  • Analogue outputs: 4-20mA = 0...25 %vol O2
  • ModBus RTU address: Baud rate 9600, Parity None, Stop bits 1, Slave ID 1

Key features

  • Sensor type: Long-life electrochemical sensor
  • Measuring range: 0...25 %vol O2
  • Resolution: 0.01% vol O2
  • T90 response time: < 10 s
  • Recommended recalibration interval: 6 months
  • Estimated sensor lifetime: > 5 years
  • 1-year warranty on the sensor itself (2 years on the complete device excluding the sensor)

Calibration certificate

Each detector package includes the original manufacturer's calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time of leaving the factory.
