Evikon E2639-HFC(R1234ze) is a detector designed to monitor high concentrations of R1234ze refrigerant in the air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250 VAC 5 A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. Communication with higher-level systems is provided by the RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, complemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. The version with a Wi-Fi module enables wireless connection of a smartphone or tablet for configuration and calibration via a web interface – with no need to install an app. In addition, the device includes four LEDs and an audible alarm to immediately alert operators when the set limit is exceeded directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.
The E2639-HFC detector is intended for monitoring R1234ze refrigerant leaks and is suitable for commercial and industrial applications such as air conditioning systems, heat pumps, chillers, air dryers, freezers or dispensing units. The device is designed for reliable detection of this new-generation refrigerant with a very low GWP, thereby supporting compliance with safety and environmental standards in the given environment.
R1234ze is a synthetic refrigerant with a faint ethereal odour, developed as an environmentally friendly replacement for traditional refrigerants with a high global warming potential. Unlike its predecessors, it has an extremely low GWP and a very short atmospheric lifetime. Although it is classified as mildly flammable, in the event of a leak in enclosed spaces it can reach explosive concentrations, and its presence therefore requires reliable detection.
The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety element and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (EPS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:
Compared to the standard version, the E2639-WF has an integrated WiFi module that turns calibration and configuration into a matter of minutes – with no tools and no need to remove the cover. The access point is activated using a magnetic key, and the configuration interface opens in the browser of a phone or tablet, with no need to download any app. The interface is password-protected with separate access levels for end users and integrators, so everyone works only within their own part of the settings.
