Evikon E2639-HFC(R454b) is a detector designed for monitoring high concentrations of R454b refrigerant in ambient air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250 VAC 5 A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. Communication with higher-level systems is provided via the RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, complemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. The version with a Wi-Fi module enables wireless connection of a smartphone or tablet for configuration and calibration via a web interface – with no need to install an app. In addition, the device includes four LEDs and an audible alarm, which immediately alert operators to any exceedance of the set limit directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.
The E2639-HFC(R454b) detector is intended for monitoring R454b refrigerant in environments such as air-conditioning plant rooms, refrigeration facilities, server rooms, shopping centres, and other enclosed spaces where cooling systems or heat pumps using this refrigerant are installed. The device helps prevent risks associated with refrigerant leaks, such as fire hazards or reduced oxygen levels in enclosed spaces, and contributes to operational safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
R454b is a synthetic refrigerant with a faintly sweet odour, composed of a blend of R32 and R1234yf, developed as an environmentally friendlier replacement for the traditional R410A refrigerant with its high global warming potential. Unlike its predecessor, it has a significantly lower GWP and a shorter atmospheric lifetime. Although it is classified as mildly flammable, in the event of a leak in enclosed spaces it may, under certain conditions, reach flammable concentrations, which is why its presence requires reliable detection.

Compared to the standard version, the E2639-WF has an integrated WiFi module that turns calibration and configuration into a matter of minutes – with no tools and without removing the cover. The access point is activated using a magnetic key, and the configuration interface opens in the browser of a phone or tablet, with no need to download any app. The interface is password-protected with separate access levels for end users and integrators, so everyone works only within their own section of the settings.
