GSH-C3H8 is a pre-calibrated sensor module for the E2639-GSH detector and is used to measure propane in the range of 0–100% LEL. It connects via an M12 connector and can be hot-swapped without opening the detector housing. The integrated calibration calendar monitors the date of the next calibration, while the calibration itself can be carried out separately from the installed E2639 main unit using the SSC configurator.
The GSH-LEL(C3H8) sensor is designed for monitoring propane in industrial and commercial environments such as boiler rooms, plant rooms, gas storage facilities, LPG filling stations, and other areas where flammable gases are handled. The device is used for the early detection of hazardous propane/LPG concentrations, helping to ensure equipment safety and minimise the risk of fire or explosion.

Propane is a colourless, odourless gas that is often used as a fuel for heating, cooking, or powering vehicles. Together with butane, it forms LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), which is a liquefied petroleum gas stored under pressure. Thanks to its properties, such as a low boiling point, propane is also suitable for colder conditions where butane would not be as effective. LPG is often used as a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels because it produces lower pollutant emissions. In addition, it is easy to transport and store, making it a versatile and practical fuel.
The smart sensor offers a major advantage during calibration – the entire process can be carried out separately from the installed detector. While the E2639 main unit remains in operation at the installation site, the GSH sensor module can be removed and calibrated independently – at the distributor’s premises, the integrator’s premises, or directly at the manufacturer Evikon MCI. This is done using the dedicated SSC configurator, through which the module is connected to a computer. Once calibrated, the GSH module simply needs to be plugged back in via the M12 connector – without opening the device housing, without complicated procedures, and without interrupting the entire installation.

Each sensor package includes the manufacturer’s original calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time of leaving the production line.
