GSH-NO is a pre-calibrated sensor module for the E2639-GSH detector and is designed for measuring nitric oxide in the range of 0–250 ppm. It connects via an M12 connector and can be replaced while powered, without opening the detector housing. An integrated calibration calendar monitors the date of the next calibration, while the calibration itself can be carried out separately from the installed E2639 main unit using the SSC configurator.
The GSH-NO sensor is intended for monitoring nitric oxide in environments such as industrial facilities, chemical laboratories, incineration plants, production halls and other enclosed spaces where NO may accumulate. The device helps prevent health risks associated with exposure to this gas and contributes to ensuring the safety of both personnel and operations.
Nitric oxide is a colourless toxic gas whose presence in the air cannot be reliably detected by the senses, as it has no distinctive odour or visible signs. In enclosed spaces, it can accumulate to dangerous concentrations and, on contact with oxygen, rapidly oxidises to nitrogen dioxide, which is even more aggressive to the respiratory tract. Exposure to higher concentrations of nitric oxide may cause irritation of the mucous membranes, coughing, shortness of breath or headaches, and prolonged exposure may lead to damage to the lungs and cardiovascular system.
The smart sensor offers a major advantage during calibration – the entire process can be carried out separately from the installed detector. While the E2639-GSH main unit remains in operation at the installation site, the GSH sensor module can be removed and calibrated independently – at the distributor’s premises, the integrator’s premises, or directly at the manufacturer Evikon MCI. This is done using the dedicated SSC configurator, through which the module is connected to a computer. Once calibrated, the GSH module simply needs to be plugged back in via the M12 connector – without opening the device housing, without complicated procedures and without any downtime for the entire installation.
Each sensor package includes the manufacturer’s original calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time of manufacture.
