GSH-HFC(R454b)2.5K is a pre-calibrated sensor module for the E2639-GSH detector, designed for measuring refrigerant R454b in the range of 0...2500 ppm. It connects via an M12 connector and can be replaced while live without opening the detector housing. An integrated calibration calendar monitors the date of the next calibration, while the calibration itself can be carried out separately from the installed E2639 main unit using the SSC configurator.
The E2639-HFC(R454b) detector is intended for monitoring refrigerant R454b in environments such as air conditioning plant rooms, refrigeration facilities, server rooms, shopping centres and other enclosed spaces where cooling or heat pump systems using this medium are installed. The device helps prevent risks associated with refrigerant leaks, such as fire hazards or reduced oxygen levels in enclosed spaces, and contributes to operational safety and compliance with relevant regulations.
R454b is a synthetic refrigerant with a slightly sweet odour, composed of a blend of R32 and R1234yf, developed as an environmentally friendly replacement for the traditional refrigerant R410A with its high global warming potential. Unlike its predecessor, it has a significantly lower GWP and a shorter atmospheric lifetime. Although it is classified as mildly flammable, in the event of a leak in enclosed spaces it may, under certain conditions, reach flammable concentrations, which is why its presence requires reliable detection.
The smart sensor offers a major advantage during calibration – the entire process can be carried out separately from the installed detector. While the E2639-GSH main unit remains in operation at the installation site, the GSH sensor module can be removed and calibrated independently – at the distributor’s premises, the integrator’s premises or directly at the manufacturer Evikon MCI. A dedicated SSC configurator is used for this purpose, through which the module is connected to a computer. Once calibrated, the GSH module simply needs to be plugged back in via the M12 connector – without opening the device housing, without complicated procedures and without downtime for the entire installation.
Each sensor package includes the manufacturer's original calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time it leaves production.
