Evikon E2639-C3H8 is a detector designed for monitoring high concentrations of propane in the air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250 VAC 5 A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. Communication with higher-level systems is provided by the RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, complemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. In addition, the device includes four LEDs and an audible alarm, which immediately alert operators to an exceeded set limit directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.
The E2639-LEL(C3H8) detector is designed for monitoring propane in industrial and commercial environments such as boiler rooms, plant rooms, gas stores, LPG filling stations, and other areas where flammable gases are handled. The device is used for the early detection of hazardous propane/LPG concentrations, helping to ensure equipment safety and minimise the risk of fire or explosion.

Propane is a colourless, odourless gas that is often used as a fuel for heating, cooking, or powering vehicles. Together with butane, it forms LPG (Liquefied Petroleum Gas), which is a liquefied petroleum gas stored under pressure. Thanks to its properties, such as a low boiling point, propane is also suitable for colder conditions where butane would not be as effective. LPG is often used as a more environmentally friendly alternative to traditional fossil fuels because it produces lower pollutant emissions. In addition, it is easy to transport and store, making it a versatile and practical fuel.
The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety device and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (EPS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:

The E2639 is equipped with three M20 cable glands and a dual terminal block for Modbus RTU. The duplicated Modbus RTU terminals help simplify and speed up bus wiring for reading into a higher-level system. No more inserting two conductors into one terminal. Thanks to the M20 cable glands, all required outputs can be connected conveniently.
Factory settings:
Each detector package includes the original manufacturer's calibration certificate in English, confirming the accuracy and correctness of measurement at the time of leaving the factory.
