E2639-VOC(C7H8) is a detector designed for monitoring high concentrations of toluene in the air. The device is equipped with a temperature-compensated sensor that ensures reliable detection and stable measurement, and it is housed in a wall-mounted enclosure with IP65 protection. The E2639 features three SPDT relays with a maximum load of 250VAC 5A. Two relays are used for so-called two-stage detection. The third relay indicates a sensor fault. For communication with higher-level systems, the device is equipped with an RS485 Modbus RTU digital interface, complemented by two 4–20 mA analogue outputs. In addition, the unit includes four LEDs and an audible alarm to immediately alert operators to an exceeded set limit directly at the installation site – without the need to monitor a remote control system.
The E2639-VOC(C7H8) detector is intended for monitoring toluene in environments such as paint shops, printing works, chemical and pharmaceutical facilities, paint and thinner stores, vehicle repair workshops, and other enclosed spaces where volatile organic compounds may accumulate.

Toluene is a volatile organic compound that readily evaporates into the air and can build up to dangerous levels in enclosed spaces. Although it has a characteristic odour, it cannot be relied upon as a warning sign, because the sense of smell quickly adapts with repeated exposure and stops noticing it. Exposure may lead to headaches, nausea, dizziness, or impaired concentration, and at higher concentrations or with prolonged exposure there is a risk of serious damage to the nervous system, liver, and kidneys.
The E2639 detector combines the advantages of an autonomous safety device and an intelligent communication node. It is designed for seamless integration with fire alarm systems (FAS) and offers a wide range of outputs for comprehensive control:


The E2639 is equipped with three M20 cable glands and a dual terminal block for Modbus RTU. The duplicated Modbus RTU terminals simplify and speed up bus wiring for connection to a higher-level system. No more inserting two conductors into a single terminal. Thanks to the M20 cable glands, all required outputs can be connected conveniently.
